This 8 minute video is a rambling tour (narrated in German) of the Jesada Technik Museum in Thailand.
Previously covered as the Microcar Museum in Thailand, this video shows a bit more coverage of vast numbers of Microcars stored away in all sorts of places in all sorts of conditions from buckets of rust to restored, or at least presentable examples. Tip of the hat to Mark Hatten for the head’s up.

Start from Bruce Weiner Museum in Madison Ga and travel south toward Fl. 24 hour event for microcars of less than 500cc and made before 1965. We will pick out a spot to drive to and back in one 24 hour period. I think we could probably drive about 900 miles. All miles will be on back roads and no Interstates used.
No pushing, hauling or pulling of the microcar during that 24 hours. You can have as many drivers as you want and also as many mechanics as you want. But the car must be driven. Chase vehicle is allowed to haul other drivers and supplies. You will be responsible for your own car.
Event will be open to everyone that has a car of less than 500cc and made before 1965. Car must have original type engine. That means you can have non matching serial numbers but it was the type and size engine that was originally in car.
Come spend three days touring the Victorian area of Cape May, New Jersey.
We will visit some great locations as we take several cruises that average 4 to 5 miles each. Our tours will take us to several museums, a winery for tour and some tasting, we will see some great sunsets and show off our Microcars downtown in the Victorian shopping district of Cape May and of course some great dining. We will have a host hotel directly on the ocean with great sunrises. More information will be available as the itinerary grows. Cape May is an 1800’s Victorian style city that is perfect for a Microcar meet. Margie, Jim & Renie look forward to hosting this meet. For more information contact us at: Privateisland2@hotmail.com

NOTE: This event is OVER! It was March 26 2010
Also, don’t trust the info from the Reporters/NewsReaders, one person says it happens TWICE A YEAR, wrong – it is normally EVERY OTHER YEAR.
This years GPNW Microcar Extravaganza was huge fun. It is hard to believe two weeks have passed since the big event. The weather held out for the better, and 48 Micro-Mini cars attended. I want to personally thank everyone for coming and making it happen. This years multi-day event held at the McMenimans Grand Lodge hotel provided an elegant back drop for all the unique little cars, and great fun for the guests who stayed.

If you were flying Delta in the last month and happened to browse through the May issue of “SKY” magazine in the seat pocket in front of you, you may have found this little trend-watch comparison chart on…Microcars!
Who would have thunk it? Microcars are trendy now and worth watching?
Listed from smallest to largest :
Smart ForTwo 106″
BMW Isetta 112″
“new” Fiat 500 117″
Toyota IQ 117.5″
TATA Nano 122″
BMW MINI 145″
yeah, many are just small cars, but apparently any modern small car is a microcar according to the media…at least they stuck an Isetta in there for reference. click the pic to see it larger if you want
Micros In Madison 2009 and The National Meet of The Vintage Microcar Club is over.
A bit o’rain did not seem to make any difference, when it rained, people just went under numerous canopies or in the barn and continued until it stopped. The only thing dampened by the rain were the late night campfires.

In another world; Microcar Collectors and Enthusiasts have their own community.
Like Airplane Enthusiasts that can be part of a community that has a Runway as the main drag so you can park your Plane in the garage, taxi out and take off, the Microcar Community has homes with Garages as the centerpiece of the house and sleeping quarters upstairs or out back.
Vehicles that can exceed 55 mph are banned and tickets are regularly given out for vehicles that are not going slow enough or emitting enough blue smoke.
Every home has a microcar enthusiast in it. They may own a microcar, they may own several or they may WANT to own one. Many have tools to work on their cars, some have no tools or no mechanical expertise to do so.
But the neighborhood is friendly and what good is a friend if you cannot borrow their tools?
So a great swap goes on continuously, the same tools are loaned out to neighbors again and again, no one has to own every single special tool needed, they can just go next door or down the block and BORROW it. As long as it is returned in a reasonable period of time, everything works out well. (more…)
