Upcoming Meets and Events of Interest
last update: April 9, 2014

May 3, Oberlin, OH
Microcars in 2 Parades!

On the morning of Saturday May the third, we'll meet up at the Lorain County Airport and head towards the college town Oberlin to follow the "Big Parade".
This parade is unlike anything us east coasters get to deal with. It's a very eclectic affair typical of a really artsy college town We'll basically watch the thing go by and then make a mad dash to the cars to be the very last participants. that starts around noon. After that, we'll travel to Lorain where we'll participate in the "Cinco de Mayo" parade, which starts around 4pm. This is a more conventional parade through a largely Hispanic section of an old industrial town where we get to throw candy.

Breakfast, Dinner and further events are wide open and will greatly depend on anticipated participation, general interests and the amount of carbon monoxide inhaled during these epic events

The Lorain County Airport is located about 30 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio. There is plenty of trailer parking. RV's are welcome for the event and reasonably priced motels and BNB's are within easy reach.

for more info, contact Herb De La Porte: herb@lifecareambulance.com

Microcar Meet at LANE MOTOR MUSEUM

The event will start on Friday afternoon with a tour to Percy Priest Lake with rides in the museum's Amphicar (weather permitting). Saturday's events include a car show at the museum, followed by a tour of downtown Nashville, only 3.5 miles from the museum. On Sunday is another tour of the area, returning to the museum for a Microcar gymkhana in the afternoon and dinner that evening. The event will end Monday morning at 9:00 am when we send off the Route 66 Vespa group from the museum.

Spend a weekend at the museum and get the chance to see the 400 car collection (of which about 100 are micro cars). There are also have approximately 60 motorcycles in the collection.

NOTE: You are welcome to participate even if you do not have or do not plan to bring your micro car. However on tours the micro cars go first and then the modern cars follow. On the tours a rescue van and trailer will follow the tour.

May 23-25, Orange County, CA
2nd So Cal Microcar Invasion!

Come join your micro car friends for So Cal Micro Invasion.

This is not a sit and shine meet, this is an event where we put miles on our cars, have a few meals together and just have fun!. You can get full information on the website www.MicroInvasion.com and of course you can contact me with any questions.

This event is May 23rd to the 25th in Orange County California. That is right, we get to spend some time cruising around Sunny Southern California. I have some great things planned for us. The last time I did this everyone had a great time and I expect most of them to attend again.

If you live near or far and can't bring a car, come anyway! There are a few extra micros that may need a driver and if nothing else, we will get you a seat in a micro/mini to enjoy the weekend.

So don't waste time, go to the website and sign up!

An important note: One of the events is going to K1 speed to race indoor electric karts. There is plenty of room for spectators, but only room for 18 racers. I think it will be a fun time to race, watch and socialize. Plus trophies are given out to 1st 2nd and 3rd! This is first come first served for the racing.

See you soon!
